March 2011 ACU Rules!!!
Fire extinguishers are required at any motocross event.   Please make sure that you have yours in the van when the safety officer comes round.  If you have no fire extinguisher in your van then you can be sent home without racing.

Another safety measure which is not being adhered to:  Riding in the paddock will not be tolerated.   Please make sure you push your bike to and from scruitineering and to and from the finish line.

These rules are in the ACU Rule book and can mean you get sent home without racing.  Please read your handbook!!

2011 Licences:
Due to a backlog of licences at the ACU, the ACU have agreed to extend the 2010 licences to cover the Practice day on Sunday 16th January 2011.   Therefore you will not need a day licence if you can produce your 2010 licence.

Sponsorship to off Island Riders:
At a recent committee meeting it was decided that a fund be set aside for sponsorship of any Isle of Man schoolboy riders (you must be a member of the Isle of Man Schoolboy Club) who are entered in to any of the BYMX or other Youth Championships in Britain/Ireland/Europe. If you would like to apply for sponsorship/funding please apply in writing to Catriona McIntosh Thomson at Roylin, Shore Road, Port St. Mary before 31st March 2011.  The applications will then go before the Committee at our April meeting and you will be informed of your allowance shortly thereafter.

OCTOBER NEWS: 2011 season
The 2011 season dates are being finalised next week and should be on the website within a week.   It has been confirmed that the Schoolboy club will only be running 6 championship rounds (drop one round) February, March, May, September, October and November, 3 - two day summer series events (June, July and August) and 3 practice days January, April and December.   All exact dates will be finalised.

The IOMSBMCC AGM will be held on Tuesday 14th December 2010 at Knock Froy Club House.  Anyone wishing to elected to the Committee can you please let Jan or Cat know so it can be discussed at the next committee meeting.

The club is looking for individuals to attend a Clerk of the Course/Steward Seminar.  This is a position of responsibility and you should have full knowledge of the ACU Handbook.  All ACU and legal requirements must be met.

2010 Schoolboy  Championship

The Schoolboy Championshp this year will only consist of six rounds and one round will be dropped as usual.  (The March event was cancelled due to snow).  It has been difficult to try to get another round slotted in to the motocross calendar.  The only available date would be the 12th December and we cannot guarantee that the weather would allow us to run that day, also as most riders will want their 2011 championship numbers allocated before Christmas it was decided by the Committee that this would not be possible if a seventh round was run in December.

As last year's trophy presentation at Jurby Parish Hall was a success, the Committee has decided that  the 2010 Trophy Presentation will be held at Jurby Parish Hall again on Sunday 16th January 2011 after a practice day at Ballagaraghyn.   All parents are asked to contribute to .the day  Further details will be posted later in the year.
